Jesus is Why!

Hebrew words to describe “man”:

• Āḏām / Awdam → man as earth-born (creature from the dust).

• Geber → man as strong and mighty (but still mortal).

• Ish → man as an individual person (identity, role, or husband).

• ĕnôsh → man as frail, weak, incurable, feeble – and sick …

David said, “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is “MAN,” that thou art mindful of him?” (Psalm 8). David went on to say God has made man to have dominion over the works of His hands; and put all things under his feet ... David expressed shock! His amazement came from his understanding that mankind was fallen! ... The Hebrew word he used to describe this man (’ĕnôsh) is even more shocking. This word expresses that this man's state is, weak, frail, sick and incurable - and again, David is wondering WHY??? ...

The answer... JESUS IS WHY!!!

Outside of Christ mankind had become without hope, and useless! – but because of the Father’s eternal plan, this frail man has unfathomable value! But this value is ALL IN JESUS CHRIST! God became ’ĕnôsh (frail, mortal man) to save man! God’s favor on mankind is because He favored His Son – however, God favored His son because He favored US!! … “He that spared not His only Son, but gave him up for us all!” This brings the reality of “joint heirs” with Christ to life. Christ in our likeness, restored sonship!

Man's glory is because of Christ! The grace and mercy man receives is because of Christ! The attention and mindfulness man receives from the Father is because of Christ!
