The Other Side of the Fruit!
In the Garden, there were two bites in the fruit - and they were not the same!
Eve’s bite was the bite of deception. She was “beguiled.” But Adam’s bite was different - it was a bite of choice and a bite of SACRIFCE.
Adam wasn’t tricked. He willingly partook of the forbidden fruit! He stepped into what his wife had stepped into. Eve was not “just another human” to him, she was bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. So, Adam made a deliberate decision: if she’s going down, I’m going down with her. He accepted the consequence of separation, curse, and death.
But Adam’s sacrifice pointed to a greater sacrifice! Disobedience brought Death - Obedience brought life!
Adam tasted death because his bride was under death - and Christ tasted death because we His Bride was under death.
Adam’s decision did not stop the fall - death still entered in. But it set the stage for the only One who could step in and reverse the curse: God manifested in flesh, the Last Adam, who would take the judgment, survive the flaming sword, and not physically, but SPIRITUALLY save His bride who he FOREKNEW!!!!
This goes far deeper than “Adam biting a piece of fruit.”
