What We Believe

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Romans 1:16

THE BIBLE

WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, written by holy men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. It is the sole authority for salvation and Christian living.
(2 Timothy 3:15-17, II Peter 1:21)

GOD

WE BELIEVE in one God, who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes, and purpose, and both omniscient and omnipresent.

He has revealed Himself to us as Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit in emancipation, never leaving those who trust in Him.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ embodies the complete divine nature of Almighty God. Born of a virgin, Jesus is both fully human and fully divine, God made flesh.  Having ascended to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit, first experienced at Pentecost, who continues to fill the lives of those who seek Him. It is through His death, burial, and resurrection that salvation is offered to all who believe. (Acts 2:22-24, I Cor. 15:20, Acts 2:4, Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, 1 Timothy 3:16, Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 45:18, John 1:1, 14)

SALVATION

WE BELIEVE in obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection). This constitutes the new birth. (2 Thessalonians 1:8, 1 Peter 4:17, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 2:38, St. John 3:3-8, Acts 8:16; 10:44-46, 19:5-6, Titus 3:5)

LIFESTYLE

WE BELIEVE in living a life that is holy, sanctified, and set apart for God. Holiness is expressed both inwardly and outwardly and reflects the nature and character of Christ in our everyday lives. (1 Peter 1:15–17, Hebrews 12:14, Romans 12:1–2)

FAITHFUL OBSERVANCES

WE BELIEVE in upholding biblical practices that exemplify humility, remembrance, and faith, including divine healing through Jesus’ sacrifice, holy communion in remembrance of the Lord’s death, and foot washing following Jesus’ example of servanthood. (Isaiah 53:5, James 5:14–15, John 13:14–15, 1 Corinthians 11:24–26)

RAPTURE

WE BELIEVE also in the imminent and glorious catching away (The Rapture) of the Church, the Bride of Christ, before the time of God's wrath, the Tribulation, when Jesus returns in the clouds of glory to take His people to Heaven, as a demonstration of His love and promise to keep them from the hour of trial. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 3:10, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52)

THE NAME

WE BELIEVE that JESUS is the only saving name and so whatsoever you do in word or deed, you should do ALL in the Name of the Lord Jesus.
(Acts 4:12, Col. 3:17)
